Mary Hudetz is an Associated Press reporter based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who writes about the criminal justice system and Indian County. This year, she also is serving as the senior reporter on the The CJ Project, an initiative of the Asian American Journalists Association, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and National Center on Crime and Delinquency that aims to cover how the criminal and juvenile justice systems affect New Mexico's diverse communities.

Hudetz is an enrolled member of the Crow Tribe, and a past president of the Native American Journalists Association. She also is a former editor of Native Peoples Magazine and the Associated Press' West Regional Desk, both based in Phoenix.
