Umbreen Bhatti manages the KQED Lab, the San Francisco-based public media organization's in-house innovation lab. Previously, she practiced civil rights law and in 2010, co-founded islawmix to demystify the topic of Islamic law for American news consumers. Upon completing a John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University in 2014, she served as a design consultant and strategist for media, government, and law-related projects and organizations.
