Sharaf is a producer for the CBS Evening News. 

Before coming to CBS he was a senior producer for political video at the Huffington Post. 

Before the Huffington Post Mowjood was a field producer at NBC News. He was on the 2016 campaign trail covering Donald Trump's Presidential run for all NBC platforms and shows.

While at NBC he produced stories for The TODAY Show, Nightly News, MSNBC, Rock Center, Dateline and The Rachel Maddow Show.

His career at NBC began when he was one of six chosen from among 2,000 applicants to receive the NBC News Associates Fellowship in 2010. 

Mowjood's first published byline appeared on the front page of The New York Times in 2009 for breaking the story about a mosque being built two blocks north of Ground Zero, today famously known as "The Ground Zero"​ mosque.

His stories have made the front page of The New York Times four times, and his videos have made the front page of The Times website.
