In this age of "alternative facts," it's clear that we have a global fake news problem. This panel will discuss the how and why behind the development of fake news, the way that the term has been usurped by questionable mouthpieces, the challenge of increasing the public's media literacy, and how we can work to identify and prevent the spread of factually untrue content. Can democracy survive without media literacy?
